This Old Schoolhouse is a tongue-in-cheek reference to our house’s former history as an 1850s schoolhouse as well as the PBS show “This Old House,” which features an illustrious panel of experts who teach viewers how to renovate homes correctly.  Unlike the show, we are not experts by any stretch of the word. We plan on doing A LOT of hands on learning, including making our fair share of mistakes, but hey — you can say we’re honouring the history of our home as a former schoolhouse!   Please don’t be shy, reach out to us if you have advice, guidance, recommendations, anything that might be helpful.
